I bought this USB switch because my laptop only has two USB ports. This meant that if I wanted to print something, I had to unplug my keyboard to connect the printer. This is as annoying as it sounds. This switch allows four devices, including high-power devices, to use one USB port. Although I haven't used this feature, you can use the switch as a KVM switch between two computers to easily share your keyboard, mouse, etc. My only downside is that the packaging says USB 3.0, but it's actually 2.0. I'm not deducting a star because I knew I bought a Switch 2.0
