Some people think this is a normal product but I had a very very hard time getting the monitor to a lower position when it was in a higher position. For people who don't need to increase and/or decrease altitude very often, this might work. When I managed to lower the monitor, I had the impression that it might fall forward due to the weight of the extension. My monitor is not that heavy. I would suggest a device that can be attached to a table with simple tension adjustment. Adjustment to this required partial disassembly - removing bolts and wrench.
