Nice inexpensive lift kit

This is a good and economical option for raising the rear of your Silverado. This is actually the most common way of raising the rear of these trucks. Even if you look at really expensive lift kits, they still use blocks for the rear. I paired this set with a Rough Country 2" Front Alignment Kit. I wanted to keep the factory frame (rake), just make it a little taller. The truck looks great and as far as I can tell there are no real problems. with quality on every lift kit. Installation is easy for a professional. I work as an auto technician so it took me 30 or 40 minutes to do the rear end on the lift. If you do this at home on the ground it may take a while. And if you don't like this kind of work or don't have the right tools, you should go to the store with it. ' Ratchet/breaker or impact and torque wrench and some other basic tools. Torque specification for U-bolt nuts is 59 ft/lbs first pass, then an additional 130 degrees. It is then recommended to check the torque again after a few hundred kilometers. They should be tightened evenly in a criss-cross pattern. So yes, this is a relatively easy setup for some people with the right tools. But the rear end is heavy and needs proper support and a little movement and adjustment to get it back in place. So make sure you can finish this job before you start. When installing the lift, I didn't have to change anything other than the parking brake cable. There are 2 brackets that fix/route the cable to the frame. I had to remove the one closest to the rear end because it put too much tension on the cable with the jack installed. That's all. Everything else was fine. At the same time I replaced the shock absorbers, but only because the factory ones were worn out. These are not dedicated shock absorbers for hoists. You can use stock shock absorbers. I chose KYB because I love the ride quality they offer. They are stiff but don't wobble. Drives like a truck. It feels very similar to the look of the new Silverados. How such lift kits affect ride quality is not. The use of such spacers at the front and rear does not affect the handling in any way. All factory chassis do not suffer from this. Front alignment kits change the wishbone angles slightly, but not enough to notice a difference. These 2" lift kits are the non-invasive height change you can make to your truck. And then the truck looks great. Standard size tires don't look bad after the lift. But we all know the factory-size tires on Silverados. They're damn small to begin with. You just need to make square holes for the wheels. Don't get me wrong, I love it. This sets us apart from Ford and Dodge fans, but limits our choice of tire sizes. So if you are looking for tire sizes at the same time, you can easily mount 275 / 60R20 without friction. You can also adjust this size without a lifter, but it looks better with a 2 inch lifter. This is a 33 inch high tire to make comparison easier. Factory tire height on 4WD vehicles is 31.9 inches. The width is basically the same. I've seen people run wider tires than this, but with only 2 inches of pitch, wider tires can rub from time to time unless you use an aftermarket rim with a different offset. I personally like my factory rims. And I don't want wider tires because that has a negative impact on fuel consumption. Also, I don't need wider tires. Keep an eye out for Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Trail Grapplers. long gone.
