I have this food processor on sale for $20-$20 max. Before that I used a cuisinart mini chopper and had to make several batches. I've used it to shred cabbage for sauerkraut, chop cucumbers and zucchini for pickles, and a few other odd jobs I think. I don't understand negative reviews unless they received a defective product. It slices and shreds and the cord wraps underneath when you store it. I think it's great. The only downside shows in the picture where the food gets stuck every time and you have to use either a toothpick or a knife to get it out of the water, at least I didn't have enough pressure to get it out. All I remember is paying the $20 and moving on. Worth every penny. The quality is the same as my kitchen unit. They are both loud but the little chef is louder!
