Solid and Reliable

Okay, I used a painted wine bottle cork hanging from the ceiling, but I was always a few inches forward or backward. Too far forward and I couldn't open the closet door all the way. Too far back there is a problem opening the tailgate when the garage door is closed. This rubber bumper is durable and will keep you off the garage floor. It's easy to install and then just use your trusty masonry drill bit to drill two mounting holes in the concrete. Yes, you will need a hammer drill and a 1/2" concrete drill bit capable of driving a 4" hair into the concrete (assuming you use the included lag screw kit). You need to suck the concrete dust out of the holes before inserting the yellow grommet. The trick to installing the jack is to tap it in with a rubber mallet until it stops, sticks out about 1.5 inches, and starts playing the harmonica on its own. Before you deform it, stop, take the lag screw, insert it into the socket and make a few turns in the thread of the socket. Then you can gently hammer on the screw to finish inserting the plastic bushing flush with the floor. It took me more time to move the machine there - here to check the position of the bumper instead of drilling and bolting it to the ground. This bumper is excellent and much safer bolted than glued. You won't be disappointed as you pull into your garage and approach a hard stop cautiously every time.
