I found this IR extender to be a great addition to my home setup. The IR receiver is able to pick up signals from a distance allowing me to control my TV even from another room .The setup was straightforward and required no additional tools or electronics. The only downside is that the unit is a BIT bulky, but it blends in well with my other electronics on my TV stand.
