Of the 12 caps I received, 11 had defective end caps and one was actually smooth. The defects varied in size. I've attached two photos showing what I mean. One has a rough hole and the other has both a hole and a groove in the middle. When I ordered I knew the corks were plastic and not ceramic but I expected them to be at least good quality. The holes and grooves hide bacteria that can contaminate your drinks - especially important for those using these coasters. The groove is an obstacle to a good seal because it runs all the way around the plug.
