Fiction! - Sports & Handheld GPS

Despite some negative reviews I bought this watch anyway and am soooo happy about it. First I want to answer a few criticisms I've read and then I'll give my own impression of the watch. Screen: Some say the screen does not look like the images advertised by the manufacturer. I don't understand what these people are looking for! The screen is fantastic! No, the images do not show EXACTLY what you are getting, but other GPS screens do not look EXACTLY like their ads either. The truth is that screenshots are a VERY GOOD representation of what you are actually getting. The screen is quite bright and clear both in the sun and in the shade. If the screen appears blurry at first glance, simply rotate your wrist slightly until the glare is gone. If you do this, the picture will be crystal clear. Those are the simple moves I'm talking about. One thing I did based on a suggestion in the manual was change the screen color to black background and white characters. I am VERY happy with the screen. Check out the photos I took with my iPhone. What more do you want? Touchscreen: I've read several complaints about hard-to-see crosshairs or other issues when using the touchscreen. Again, this is a relatively small screen. This is not a big smartphone! I have no problem choosing what I need, but I've found that fingerprints can easily stick to the screen and affect its visibility. I hate fingerprints on touch screens. I solved this problem by going to Walmart and buying a $10 iFrogz pen. It's small enough that I can carry it in my pocket like a long golf t-shirt or clip it to anywhere on my bag. It doesn't leave any marks or smudges and I'm sure it improves the accuracy of identifying objects on the screen. You can use a t-shirt as some recommend, but I would be afraid of damaging the screen over time. Portability: At least one person said they struggled with accidentally hitting the score button while swinging. I am a one number player and have NO issues with the clock affecting or affecting my shot. Granted, I don't wear golf gloves and I suspect part of the problem stems from the glove's heel contact on the backswing. If so, I'd suggest trying a cadet-style glove (smaller heel) or rotating the dial so it's on the inside of your wrist. I do this when I train on the range (see below) and it works great. Battery life: Some say that they are not satisfied with the battery life. I've only had the watch for a week and have used it for three laps. I charge the watch after every lap. After each round I have 75% or more charge left. I'll keep watching and report back in a few weeks. If this performance continues, I will be very satisfied. As one person pointed out, make sure your computer doesn't turn off the charger when it goes to sleep. It's not mine. Garmin sells a charging dock if you don't want to mess with the computer part. My impressions: This watch is great! I was a little worried about what it would be like to wear it while playing golf. I don't even notice it there when I'm swinging! It's very light and comfortable. It doesn't feel bulky at all and I really like the white version I chose. I feel great wearing it everywhere. The packaging was very good. It was easy to set up. The included manual is good, but go online and download this version. It is more complete and without difficulties. I haven't used a power meter, but I've used tempo training. This is a great feature and one of the main reasons I bought this watch. I'm satisfied that the ratio of 3.0 is indeed the optimal rhythm. (I don't want to get too technical, but it trains your rhythm rather than your pace). My only complaint is the volume. The noise is not loud enough for me. I don't have any hearing problems when everything is quiet, but with enough ambient noise, such as B. Background traffic, it is difficult to hear the address. I don't know if the volume is adjustable. I've found that I hear sounds better when I turn the dial toward the inside of my wrist. I can't deduct a single star for that as the machine overall is wonderful!
