I don't normally criticize a product or its designers for user error, but when that user error is so easy to commit and the consequences can be so devastating and damaging, I would have to , to have. What are two things that can go wrong with a steamer basket? 1. They digest food. No big deal and not the fault of this product.2. You have run out of water. On very short legs, this is very easy to do with this product. If you are lucky, you will notice the lack of water immediately. If you're unlucky, you'll notice the lack of water after things start to smell bad. If you're particularly unlucky, you'll find out after the cooking time is up. For a regular metal steamer, this simply means a slightly damaged pot and various stages of spoiled food. Add to that a plastic handle and you have toxic and extremely toxic fumes that will fill your entire house with fire. Yes, user error, but because it's so easy to commit I hope people get over it. notice and understand the seriousness of such a mistake.
