Review on Tacx Flux 2 Smart Trainer by David Dreher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

1 week in operation - works well. Here are some customization details in one place!

This machine works great. It immediately connected to the software (iPhone Xs) via Bluetooth. I personally love the rides offered in the Tacx software and would probably pay for a subscription. Pretty rides all over Europe. I would like to once again emphasize the structure of the simulator, because even after reading many reviews, I still missed a couple of nuances. Purchase a different cassette identical to the one on your road bike. Remove the rear wheel from the road bike, locate the model number on the cassette retaining ring. Order It. Also - ***You will need the spacers that come with the cassette. **The Shimano 10-speed cassette has a 1.85mm and a 1mm washer - you need both. Believe me. If you don't do it right, the bike won't shift properly. You will need a torque wrench and tools to remove the cassette. If this is a bit confusing, it looks like local bike shops are used to installing them for people. Take the bike and trainer to your LBS and give them some work. By the way, I bought the pads I needed locally for a few dollars. At Revain they cost a little more. With the backup cassette installed, you can now decide at any time to take your bike to the road - just take it off the machine, attach the rear wheel and hop off. Street. One note - in order for the shifter to work properly on both, I had to *slightly* adjust the rear derailleur to be slightly inboard. This is the adjusting nut at the end of the shifter cable on the front derailleur. Now it shifts correctly on both the simulator and the track roller.
