Review on πŸš€ Enhance Fuel System Performance with GOLDENROD (495-4) Fuel Tank Filter Replacement Bowl by Nick Henning

A no frills product to keep you looking for new ones

These bowls are designed to eliminate consumables that are part of a superior fuel filtration system. I would expect something like this for something that has a "Made in China" sticker, not an American product. The valve at the bottom screws tightly into the bottom of the bowl. It's actually filled with epoxy, so you can't remove it until the cuff ruptures. This causes the cup (even when empty) to break after a year or two. One of them was in my garage and after two years it cracked, EMPTY IN THE BOX. Another ripped fuel and spilled fuel all over the floor of my garage which could have started a fire. It's actually quite simple, plastic and metal expand at different rates, if you make the plastic thin enough it's only a matter of time before it ruptures. I already buy goldenrod filters, why should I keep buying these bowls? Anyway, here's how I fixed the new bowl that just arrived. Slightly sand the bottom and screw in the partial valve2. Tape the bowl around the diameter with masking or masking tape3. Mix epoxy for about 5 minutes and pour. Enjoy the fact that you don't have to keep buying those $20 bowls. I know we all have bills to pay, but come on. This can easily be solved by using a plastic release valve that will expand at the same rate as the bowl and won't rupture, but then you don't have to keep buying bowls.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
