Review on Enhance Precision with DMD 2008 Whetstone Sharpener Diamond Sharpening Tool by Donald Vargas

Superb Large 3 Diamond 150-325-1200 Triangular Grain Plate with Strong Deep Plastic Water Bath Mount

A dull knife is far more dangerous than a really sharp one! I have many knives and also some tools (planer knives, wood chisels) that can be sharpened from time to time to get a nice sharp edge. This diamond sharpening system has 3 large, flat, diamond coated surfaces that sit on a triangular steel plate base. The triangular shape makes it easy to transition to a new grit. (Figures 1-3). The sharpening plate holder does not move when I run the knife over the plate. The tub's large, thick and durable plastic bottom has a wide, non-slip bottom. (Figure 7). It comes with instructions recommending that if you use water on a sharpener, be sure to dry it thoroughly before removing it. It is rinseable and the tub is easy to fill or empty. The diamond sand slabs are quite large, 8 inches by 2 3/4 inches, not counting the blue plastic triangular base they sit on. The 3 grains look the same thickness and can be applied well. 150, 325, and 1200 grit are good choices. This system does an excellent job of sharpening knives and tools. Finishing the leather strap with compound will add the final touch to give me a razor edge. This takes practice in maintaining a certain angle (15 to 17 degrees for fine cutlery) as I run the knife blade across the flat plate. . Because this system is elevated above the bath surface and is large, it is easier to pull the knife (or tool) out at a consistent angle as there are no obstacles to hitting. (Figures 5 and 6). I liked that it can be switched left or right handed and was specially made with an offset V-slot on the top of the tub for a triangular diamond sharpener - much better than just centering. This diamond grit finish feels very strong and does not streak or ridge like regular silicon carbide or Arkansas sharpening stones. I recommend this DMD Store Diamond Whetstone knife sharpener. It's big enough to give my knives and tools a great sharpness, and the tub is made of thick, durable plastic. Excellent quality! I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
