Review on 🏠 Kasa Smart Light Switch HS200P3: 3-Pack with Alexa and Google Home Compatibility, No Hub Required by Adam Gardner

Smart action limited to 3 devices per account

The on/off response time is very fast and the integration with Alexa/Google Home is great. For Alexa, you should change the device type for lights if you want the "lights off" command to work properly instead of asking Alexa which device is lit by name, as Alexa will recognize it as a "switch" by default. While this is technically correct, it is certainly useless for most people. With Google Home, it has a slight delay in initially detecting the device's state compared to Alexa, but it automatically detects it as a light when the device is named 'xxx light'. ". With all the good things mentioned, I would like to point out one major limitation of Kasa products. They have a pretty tight limit for Smart Actions. You can only enable 3 Smart Actions per account. For example, you can create a Smart Action, to automatically turn off the switch over x minutes by making this switch a countdown timer, but you are limited to only 3 devices per account.Perhaps TP Links is concerned that this service is too expensive to run cloud services. Anyway , TP-Link should be clearer regarding this limitation so that potential buyers are aware of this limitation before purchasing the product.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
