Global is the leader in professional quality knives. A bread knife is forged from a solid billet, so you don't have any annoying gaps where the blade meets the handle and becomes a moisture trap that allows rust and bacteria to thrive. I have several Global knives and have found them to hold their edge better than most knives (with the exception of my carbon steel Kramer knives). Be sure to wash and COMPLETELY dry your knife (including the knobbed handle, which collects oil) immediately after each use! It protects your investment and your fingers!
