I bought one of these on December 12th at my local Walmart store. They had 2 left in stock for $178. plus VAT -5% Discovercard cashback costs, collection only. It's rated at 165Hz, but MSI only ships you an HDMI cable, not a DisplayPort cable. You only get 60 Hz with an HDMI cable. When MSI advertises this monitor as a 165 Hz monitor, a DisplayPort cable must be included with the monitor. I had to order a $10 DisplayPort cable. delivered. With an HDMI cable, colors are a little washed out and blacks are a little grey, but there are no dead pixels or backlight bleeding. Hopefully this will improve with a higher refresh rate DisplayPort cable. The monitor has a stable metal stand, but only tilted, without height adjustment. It has no USB ports or speakers. There are no instructions included with the monitor, just a quick start guide. You need to go to the MSI website to download the full manual. While in the support section of the MSI website, also download and unzip the monitor driver and update the monitor driver in Device Manager. It also comes with a free game from MSI when you register the monitor on their website. The Tom's Hardware website has a great review of this monitor and an article on how to run Nvidia's G-Sync on a FreeSync monitor. 15 year old self-made computer desk made of oak plywood (see photo). Edit 16/12: I connected the monitor to my Geforce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card using a DisplayPort cable. I had to open the NVIDIA Control Panel to change the refresh rate to 165Hz and set up G-Sync. It works with this monitor but only with a DisplayPort cable. (see photo). Colors still looked washed out and black was grey. I set the color temperature in the OSD to R 48, G 55, B 57 and the contrast to 69 as recommended by Tom's Hardware. That helped somewhat, but the gamma shown here lags behind. .nl/lcd-test/gamma_dication, low, 2.0. Tom's Hardware also found it low. It should be running around 2.2 and there is no option in the OSD to change it. Thanks MSI You can change gamma by running Windows Display Color Calibration and typing calibration in the search bar. or change it in Nvidia Control Panel; or run the free Quick Gamma program. I ran the windows display color calibration and was able to get gamma to 2.2. Colors look better and black looks less gray. my judgement. Advantages: price. Games look fine but require OSD adjustment and gamma adjustment to 2.2 refresh rate, 165Hz, but only with a DisplayPort cable and suitable graphics card. FreeSync and can work with G-Sync Samsung SVA panel High contrast 3000:11 DisplayPort and 2 HDMI portsFree to play with registration. Guarantee 3 years. Cons: No speakers or USB ports (not a con for me). Displayport cable included No height adjustment, only tilt. Good gaming monitor, but not for Photoshop. Response time is advertised as 1ms, but it's GTG so it's probably faster in reality. And the last. The monitor appears to be fairly sturdy, but as indicated by the included "do not do" sign, I wouldn't lift it by grasping the sides. Also, when attaching the stand, leave it in the foam packaging as shown.
