Leaves a nice clean sharp line, the major downside is that it's almost impossible to read the markings on the depth gauge rod without perfect lighting. I've found that I have to use a combo box to set the depth, which just exposes you to inaccuracies. Also, there are no marking differences between half-inch, quarter-inch, etc. lines. As usual, half-inch lines are larger than quarter-inch lines, and so on, with eight-inch lines being smaller than quarter-inch lines. On the shaft, all sub-inch lines are the same height, making it difficult to easily get the desired depth. that is, if you can actually see the marks.
