Cheap repairs Excellent quality

The original Ariens 17.5 Briggs starter motor stalled, this one spun and started me in 15 minutes. Perfect fit, no mods required! Fair price, easy installation, what more could you want. Don't hesitate to pay five times as much for an original Briggs starter if it helps you sleep (it's probably made in the same factory). Be sure to check out Taryl Dactyl's YouTube videos for some good information on these beginners. advice for professionals; If your original starter had a metal gear starter, replace it with a metal gear starter. If your original starter had a plastic gear, replace it with a plastic gear starter. Plastic gears have a different number of teeth than metal gears and are not interchangeable! tip 2; If you have replaced the starter and tested/swapped the battery but the starter still will not crank the engine, the valve clearances should be checked; These engines are equipped with a starter compression reset system. Incorrect valve adjustment due to wear will cause this system to fail, resulting in poor cranking/starting characteristics.
