Review on US Art Supply Premium Heavy-Weight Charcoal Paper Pad, 9 in. x 12 in., 160gsm, 32 Sheets - Pack of 2 (90 Pound) by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice texture, no spiral binding

Did several tests on this paper with different types of charcoal (pencils, pens, etc. at different angles), smearing, erasing, etc. Just a quick test. It's good enough for my needs. I can draw on printer paper ha, but it has no weight or texture at all. I love the density and texture of this paper. It can be used universally. I didn't try to draw with chalk or oil pastels. I think others have said that the pages don't tear smoothly. I don't think many sketchbooks have pages that easily detach. I tried to tear out a few sheets (carefully) and got jagged edges on the paper. Sharp edges can be trimmed, but then you'll need a paper cutter. I don't want to deal with all these problems right now. That's why I gave four stars. I don't like spiral sketchbooks or punched paper. Both hurt me. Spirals get in the way and are awkward when I want to draw tall or wide, upside down, etc. I'm an old school person so I can be a little picky about some things. Anyway, it's looking good so far. I think I can work with this if the build up of leftover edges from torn pages doesn't stop me from turning the cover over. I would say for the price worth a try.

Cons
