Paper won't peel off without tearing

The paper itself is fine, but you can't remove the pages without tearing the glued edge, like in the example image that I have posted. A sheet was torn in half because it was glued to the notebook so well. Skip this brand even if you have to pay a little more.

Pros
  • 32 sheets - 90 lb (160 gsm)
Cons
  • Some issues

Not so good: Kraft

Too toothy for small details. I let my kids take all but 10 pages, it's hard to remove a page without tearing. I mainly use it to check strokes or lighten charcoal powder brushes. The Strathmore 400 series is much better on charcoal, easier to clean up highlights and the like.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

If you like blending charcoal, forget it.

I can't get over how awful this paper is to work with when using charcoal. Blending is a nightmare if at all possible. The paper keeps peeling and tearing with the gentlest attempts. I've been painting with charcoal a lot lately and on this paper it was 10x harder to get a base stroke that didn't result in the paper peeling all over. It's normal for kids to use other mediums as others have mentioned, but whether you're an experienced charcoal artist or a beginner, it's annoying enough to make…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Nice texture, no spiral binding

Did several tests on this paper with different types of charcoal (pencils, pens, etc. at different angles), smearing, erasing, etc. Just a quick test. It's good enough for my needs. I can draw on printer paper ha, but it has no weight or texture at all. I love the density and texture of this paper. It can be used universally. I didn't try to draw with chalk or oil pastels. I think others have said that the pages don't tear smoothly. I don't think many sketchbooks have pages that easily detach…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
