Difficult installation in ceiling fans

I'm usually pretty good with the basics...plumbing, electrical, etc., but this baffled me. The instructions were poor to say the least. A friend with more experience came along and was finally able to wire everything up for me. I like the stylish design and it's really bright. The remote works great and has a good range of functions. The fan works pretty well, but I'm afraid cleaning it will be more trouble than it's worth. In general I am satisfied
