My child is 8 years old, weighs about the 75th percentile, is about 52 inches tall and weighs about 60 pounds. He's neither fat nor thin, but he has a broad waist, so buying clothes for him was a real problem. that fit decently, and swimwear is no different. This is why I have ordered and returned so many items. I finally found a pair of swimming trunks that not only are at the best price but also fit perfectly. They reach just above the knees and the soft elastic at the back makes them very comfortable and allows room to grow. The elastic at the back is also soft and stretchy enough so that it stays even more comfortable as he grows – he keeps doing some things with such a tight rubber band. that I always think he cuts him in. The material is soft, as is the inner mesh, which I had to cut out of expensive swim trunks because it was so rough. I bought a size 8 - most of his dresses are a size 10 - because for the reviews saying it runs big and fits great I would say the size is perfect and other brands are too big or too small. To be fair we haven't swum yet so not sure how they will hold up over time but I'm just rinsing my swimwear so I assume they're fine. My boy tried them on and was very happy with how they looked and felt so he recommends them too. We swim a lot so I have to buy several pairs of swim trunks every year and at this price I don't worry about the cost. Highly recommend if you are looking for swim trunks that look and feel good.
