Review on ✈️ Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls Yoke with Switch Panel by Pat Allen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A definite improvement over other needles

I have switched to this Logitech yoke. I read a ton of reviews about this before I came to work while training as a private pilot and I needed the right mount for my Xplane simulator to complete the maneuvering course I got from Glim a while back. Logitech was considered the best at the time for the budget end of the spectrum when I first got it. Had it come out sooner, I would have taken it out of the gutter because of Logitech's offer. The price for what you get is top notch. You get a switch panel and full 180-degree roll and smooth elevator axis movement with minimal deadzone (I didn't notice it on mine, except for a very small spot in roll) and little to no pitch control from within. turn for a U-turn or entrance. This compares to Logitech, which has noticeable lock in both pitch and yaw, huge deadzone, and a total roll limit of 90 (45 degrees in each direction). Yes, Honeycomb wins by a wide margin. Travel on the field is about 5-6 inches, but it lacks a detent and the flow is smooth, giving you a good half inch more usable travel compared to the Logitech yoke. Resistance gradually increases, but the further you push and pull, the harder it gets than Logitech's. While the roll axis pulls almost imperceptibly, Logitech had something more for me. In short, apart from extremely expensive clamps like Brunner or Yoko, this one offers you the best functionality and value for money.
