I bought this outdoor outlet to run an aquarium pump from a tank to water my plants. No home hub. It took a little effort to connect the app to the device, but it worked in the end. The body seems solid. However, my outdoor socket is upside down and the floor is on top. The end is barely long enough to fit under the cover of an outdoor outlet as the end faces up and must be twisted down to exit through the bottom opening. With a little tension it fits. See photo. I hooked up an aquarium pump and the app's "big round button" on my phone miraculously turns the unit on and off while I'm sitting in the living room. The timer event also works well: I turn on the pump, choose a 1 or 2 minute timer (you only have minute resolution) and it turns off at the chosen interval. wanted it, doesn't work reliably. I set a schedule so that the pump turns on in the morning and turns off after 1 minute, the same in the evening. Everything worked fine for the first 3 cycles. Then I noticed that the cloud scheduler randomly picks a scheduled activity and runs it even if it's not time yet. On the third day I chose "on" the last. The pump emptied the entire tank into my plants, which consequently overflowed and the pump ran dry overnight. At least the pump is still running. I followed the manufacturer's recommendation to remove and reintroduce my events. Now I only plan "weekend" events. However, after about 3 cycles, the cloud scheduler will randomly execute actions, including those that shouldn't be executed, see figure: This is not an old hint, read the timestamps carefully. Based on my experience of overflowing pans, I'm convinced that the evening activity was done after my morning activity, but both at 07:51. I have yet to follow the manufacturer's other recommendation, factory reset the switch and try again. But at that moment I lost hope. I've already bought a Shelly switch and intend to use my Raspi to control Shelly WiFi much more precisely than any cloud scheduling. And it should work even if my external internet is down. I gave the device 3 stars because it does some of the work. I don't have to squeeze the pots to connect and disconnect the pump twice a day. This works great if you don't rely on activities planned in the cloud.
