This yarn is so soft and very thick. I bought this yarn to make an infinity scarf and it certainly works well for that purpose. The color here is spot on - it's a mid-tone gem green, not quite moss, not quite agate, but somewhere in between. There's a lot of dull gold in the green. It reminds me of the colors of the Mojave Desert, which is why I bought it. The other colors this yarn comes in are great - mainly jewel tones, earthy colors named after national parks. Because of this, the yarn immediately took a special place in my memory as I am very proud of our national parks and happy to see beautiful yarn that glorifies them. I feel very comfortable in my hands when working with this and since I use large needles the scarf should be a quick knit. I bought the last two skeins of this color at my local Jo Ann fabric store. Michaels doesn't sell Heartland Thick and Chunky yarn, and at nearly $2 (regular Heartland yarn), it's also significantly more expensive at Michaels than at Jo Anns. I was very lucky that I caught the strands I made when I did this. I hope Heartland thick and thick yarn is not discontinued. That would be a shame because the colors are beautiful and the yarn itself is soft and comfortable to work with. I am very happy with Lions Brand Heartland Yarn and will probably make more scarves with the other beautiful colors this yarn has. in.
