Works as advertised

I needed KVM to share keyboard, monitor and mouse between two PCs. I stopped there. It seems that even in 2021, KVMs are generally bad. There's not much left until I filter out those with older connections like VGA and those with HDMI but don't support high resolution and refresh rates. Those that stay often have negative reviews. I went with the KM switch instead - I connect both PCs directly to a monitor and use the monitor's input to switch between them. So I'm guaranteed to get 1440p/144Hz. This switch still handles the keyboard and mouse just fine. It even has two extra ports if I need to connect something else. In that regard, it's more like a USB hub that connects to two PCs. I haven't connected anything that requires more speed than a keyboard or mouse, such as B. a flash drive or a USB hard drive. I'm only considering using it as a KM switch. I have only two downsides: its size and performance. First, it's small and light. Very small, very light. It doesn't stay on my table. I have to put it between other things so it doesn't fall off the back of my desk. Second, it supposedly works without the included power cord. If I don't use the power cord, the mouse doesn't work. Connected to the power supply, the mouse works. Just plug in the power cord. It looks like other products have similar issues, so I'm going to plug it into an AC adapter and call that a tie. In any case, it works very well for my use case and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it if your needs are the same.
