Review on Smittybilt 76887 Body Cladding 4 Door by Jonah Koehnke

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You look great! Installation was a pain. READ BEFORE BUYING!

I put her on a 2012 JK Unlimited. They're pretty solidly built and very nicely covered. The kit comes with good instructions (enough to get you through). A few notes. The first; You MUST drill into the side of your Jeep. TAKE YOUR TIME. Connect the pieces, mark holes, punch them in the middle, etc. Read the instructions before dedicating a day to the project as you'll need a couple of hours per side once you have all the tools required and you're on your way the work. . The drill you need is hard to find and it took me days and miles to get here in Anchorage to find exactly what I need. Also in JK there are a few sheets/layers that need drilling in some places so keep that in mind. Silicone when installing bits will help "glue" the holes. Second; The rivet nut insert "tool" they provide is complete GARBAGE. Serious. The specific tool you need to invest in (and believe me, you'll want to buy this tool before you get started) is here: [.] Without this tool, you're going to have trouble even trying to set a single rivet. Don't waste time and just buy. I can't stress this enough. It took 3 weeks until I finally got my hands on it. Nobody in town, not even the Grainger store, has this thing, so make sure you have it. This is the only reason I gave this product a 4* instead of a 5. You should disclose this before making any investment. How they look like; You look great! They add a beautiful, durable look. As for functionality? I am not really sure. These are pretty strong pieces of metal so I'm sure they'll protect the side of your Jeep a bit, but I think they're more for cosmetic purposes. In general. I think it was a good buy. While installation was a headache, once this tedious project is completed, you'll be glad you bought it. As always; Revain has a great price and fast shipping (only a few days to Alaska).
