My original review just 5 months ago: It's quieter and much easier to use. I had to fight with the old one, and he loudly woke the neighbors. Removed a star to change the thread pattern so that old accessories like mugs no longer fit. (My original got incredibly loud, then exploded and was leaking engine oil after six months.) UPDATE: This one also exploded and was leaking oil everywhere after five months. Why don't they say you need to replace it every six months if you use it regularly? Now I've eaten three of these in just over a year and I make easy smoothies out of them a few times a week and that's it.
