Review on Illuminate Your Ride: Introducing Bell Arella Tail Light by Jose Perry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice set of USB batteries at a reasonable price

Bought this for my son when he transitioned into university life. I wanted USB charging so you can charge in most places and carry around a charger that charges multiple devices. Bike lights are useless if they don't have a battery. The charging cable is standard, I think it is Micro USB on the light end and USB on the charging end. The mounting system seems ok, similar to my Serefa taillight which I like and they are a lot cheaper. The backlight can be easily switched on and off in a few seconds. I wanted this because things tend to disappear out of bike racks at uni. They can light your way, but don't expect to be riding down a 20-mile bike path at the same time. Both displays have a steady on mode and a blinking mode. I usually drive with blink mode because I can see you more easily and that worries me. Modes switch easily, and accessing some of them doesn't require a secret handshake (e.g. my NightRider). Overall I think it's a decent light. I haven't ridden it myself, but I ride my bike and have a lot of experience with bike gear and... I'm confident enough to send my son in it. I deducted 1 star because I had the feeling that the headlight could be a bit brighter. hp Based on other reviews, I didn't click "Try it" on the packaging and charged both lights first. I had no problems with the light.
