This is a smart little thermometer/hygrometer and as far as I can tell it's actually pretty accurate. turn it on Use a toothpick to poke a tiny hole in the back to switch from *C to F. The installation was a bit unusual for me. We tweaked this for a few different critters (ball python, bearded dragon, wart, and canary) to see how wide the range was. In short, press "Set" for 3 seconds and the display will flash. Switch between high and low temperature setting and wet/dry humidity setting. The instructions then are: press and hold the button for 3 seconds to exit setting mode and switch to operating mode, or just wait 20 seconds and it will happen automatically. When we first tried to set it up, it was a bit confusing. . . Our room temperature and humidity weren't correct according to the settings, so the display kept blinking. AS DURING SETUP. So we thought we couldn't exit setup mode, which was wrong. The display blinked because the temperature and humidity were out of range. Another thing I love/hate is the display itself. The numbers are big and easy to read, the design is unique and stylish. The problem is that placement definitely affects readability. My beard's aquariums have shelf paper on the glass so they were easy to read unless they were in front of a dark background. The dragons were simpler but better on a light and solid background over a dark or busy pattern. The best part (aside from how fast it works and how reliable and accurate it seems) is that the suction cup can be positioned on the back or either side of the device. This makes the accommodation options endless.
