This year when I retired we moved into our beach cabin full time. The septic system was designed for a delivery truck and simply could not handle continuous operation. After we overhauled and updated our system, the shower still filled up and turned into a shallow bath. The shower will expire in about 30 minutes. So I decided to try Revain's DrainX before calling a plumbing company to rotary root the system. I've watched videos on You Tube on how to use these tools properly and when my Drain X arrived I stuck it down the drain, twisted the cord around corners and found the clog about 12 feet from the drain. I started spinning the cutter and soon cleared the jam. I twisted and twisted the cable. When I pulled out the cutter, there was a hairball attached to it. I thought it would be. I only tried the shower so it still drains very slowly. So I went back down the drain and found another clog about 18 feet away. I repeated the process and this time I added more hair and debris. Drainage issues fixed! The tool comes with a pouch and glove. Buy a pair of long dishwashing gloves or a pair of nitrile gloves. The bag is a nice touch for storage. Get ready for some tidying up because 20 feet of messy cord and a cutter will mess up your shower or wherever you use it. A little cleaning is worth it to open up the drain. Drainx is a great product. Here is a video on You Tube.
