I thought it was the coded hitch locking pin. I was wrong. I read the words "lock" and assumed the socket (shown in the picture) was some kind of hex key or something. After receiving the goods, I realized my mistake. The sleeve increases the pin size from 1/2" to 5/8" to fit almost any class receiver (I don't vouch for a Class V receiver, but definitely up to a Class IV receiver). That aside the quality and construction of this pen is very solid and it does exactly what it's supposed to do (except for the locking bit which I misinterpreted) and I have no doubt that whatever I might have in tow, always still doing would be there, no matter how long the journey would take. (Unless I stopped to get gas and someone just removed the hitch because it wouldn't lock with a key.) Unfortunately I'm returning it to Revain to buy with an actual lock, but I will definitely look into Master Lock. clutch pins again.
