2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU Automatic - Fits but not without modification

First of all I have to say that this product serves a rather pleasant purpose. However, this is not ideal. It looks quite similar to the OEM, replacing a useless piece of plastic with mesh. I wish they gave you little plastic clips but you have to remove two from the factory fairing that you remove. Be careful not to break the small plastic clips as they are quite small and not easy to remove. I had to modify this panel a bit to make it fit. You will likely have to do the same as other people with similar problems. 1) You will need to cut some plastic down from the back clips. There are two plastic hooks on the underside that should slide over the metal part of the console. Compared to the outgoing OEM part, they look similar but not exactly the same. This part had some extra ribs running between the hook part and the back of the panel. I trimmed two small ridges on each side of the hooks with a sharp knife. This allowed it to sit properly over those metal pieces and I was able to lower it down to where the OEM used to sit. 2) The OEM part is slightly rounded but this panel is not. What I did to line up the lines properly and not stick out at the top corners was heat the plastic with a small burner. They apply heat directly to the edges where the switches will be installed and to the flat parts. Slightly bend the plastic as it heats. Do this for both sizes. It takes a bit of work to make it look good, but it's possible.
