Ideal for memory card adapter

Installs in about 15 minutes - most of which require removing and reinstalling the 10 pentagon head screws on the rear laptop panels. I've almost filled the 1TB drive from my desktop Time Machine backup, which of course takes many more hours. 1TB Crucial MX500 M.2 3D NAND SATA SSD installed. This adapter plus SSD costs a little over 1/3 of what Transcend or OWC charge for their equivalent 1TB kit. While it works great. I was skeptical that a $14 adapter would work this well, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. If there is too much heat, I don't notice it. The adapter and the new drive fit in the same space as the old drive. As far as I can tell, nothing touches the body of the laptop. My only very minor complaint is the lack of clear instructions. The kit includes several "nuts", bolts and washers, not all of which are needed. It's possible that the ones you use depend in some way on the new drive you're installing. TIPS: Be sure to buy a pentagon head screwdriver for the 10 outer screws that hold the back of the laptop and a torx T5 screwdriver for the 1 inner screw that holds the SSD. on site. Google "Upgrade your Macbook Air SSD with any M.2 SATA drive" and you're bound to find a great YouTube video of the same name with step-by-step instructions. including additional critical steps like resetting NVRAM on reboot.
