Review on ๐Ÿ”ต High-Quality KODAK Blue 3D Printing Filament - Unleash Your Creativity! by Jaleel Pruitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Flawless ABS. One of the best ABS threads I've ever used

I bought this because my regular ESun and Hatchbox were sold out and the Kodak red was almost the same shade. Although wow the Kodak ABS print quality is amazing and even better than the hatchbox which is very good. That being said, ABS is a very difficult filament to print and requires a fully enclosed printer with a preheated chamber. My prints were done on a Voron 2.1 at 240ยฐC through an E3D Volcano with a 105ยฐC bed and on PEX and PEI spring steel sheets at 120mm/sec. With these settings the first layer adheres very well and doesn't peel off PEX/PEI until the bed cools, which is exactly what you want. After the platform cools down, the print releases without stress cracks (white spots) and becomes perfectly flat and smooth. The print itself has a glossy clean finish and requires no post-processing. Shrinkage is normal with ABS. But above all no warping, no deformation and a perfect surface. I haven't tested steam smoothing, but gosh, I don't think it's really necessary. The only thing I complain about is the 3/4kg role. I print long runs and hate small rolls. I'm sure it was a marketing decision to make the reel smaller to make the price seem competitive compared to other more expensive ABS. However, this has lowered the "value for money" rating for me and also means I will not switch to Kodak as a regular filament. I don't like changing Kodak rolls. Please issue a 1kg roll of "regular" size. So if you need high-quality ABS for such demanding projects, Kodak ABS should be on your list of alternatives.
