First impression is fantastic

Failed to load media. Received this about an hour ago and quickly tested it on a dry hardwood bowl I was carving and was very impressed. The edge is very sharp; borders on a close shave, but not quite. However, a quick shave slightly sharpened the hair. As I cut, I checked the edge every minute or two to see if there were any warps or chips, and there were none at all. I was worried that at this price point it would probably be junk, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. The handle looks good; simple but good. It's oddly long, but it doesn't bother me, so I don't mind. if it really bothers me I think I could cut off a few inches from the back. Seems it has a slightly oily finish and a decent grind. I'm not afraid of splinters with it. I _really_ like the curve of the edge. My only crochet knife was a Morakniv 164 with a fairly sharp curve that could come in handy, but it's almost the complete opposite of that and it was a pleasure to use on the inside edge of the bowl I'm cutting. , which was particularly difficult on 164. If anything changes my mind I'll update this review, but for now I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a flat hook. that I cut. , which was particularly difficult on 164.
