Good workmanship - Wood carving tools

Spoon bowls are carved with this knife. Some of the spoons I carve have a flat bowl and this knife fits the bill perfectly. It also comes in handy for removing burrs left over from my other knives with more curved, angled blades. I have other BeaverCraft carving knives and am very happy with them. This knife was sharp enough to cut right out of the box, but like most cutters, I adjusted it a bit with a belt. The small sheath is functional with a rustic touch. Good products - good prices!

A good carving knife

I just touched the spoon lightly with the knife. But it's sharp out of the box and works well. I like the length and shape of the handle, it's long but comfortable. The blade has a leather sheath/guard that slips onto the blade and locks with a bobby pin. The leather fits the blade fairly snugly, and the perforated tongue is too short to bolt. I may be able to stretch the leather material a bit to allow it to close. However, the small sheath is a plus as the knife is premium.

Works great

I really like this spoon cutter. This has enabled me to work on spots and grains that were previously difficult to work on or difficult to reach. Other spoon knives have a more even curve that's great for certain shapes, but this blade has a sloped curve that varies over length. This allows me to start with pressure on the center of the blade, for example, and then adjust/move the pressure point as needed to suit the changing grain pattern. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, this knife was a game

First impression is fantastic

Failed to load media. Received this about an hour ago and quickly tested it on a dry hardwood bowl I was carving and was very impressed. The edge is very sharp; borders on a close shave, but not quite. However, a quick shave slightly sharpened the hair. As I cut, I checked the edge every minute or two to see if there were any warps or chips, and there were none at all. I was worried that at this price point it would probably be junk, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. The handle looks
