At first I wasn't sure, I only knew that the door would slam shut in a gust of wind. I didn't want to hang this on the wall near floor level (like you usually do) as I was worried about vacuuming and also banging my foot on that hard metal doorstop. So. I attached it to the wall above the door. I found a bolt that landed in the correct position so I know the installation is secure. As for installation, it's a breeze, 10 minutes. Just grab each piece and unscrew the plate first AFTER making sure it's where you want it. Install part of the wall (I used longer screws and went into the rack). Then place the small piece that is attached to the door magnetized on top and mark with a pencil where it will be on the door. Then I installed the door panel. After opening/closing it several times, I found that it "sticks" quite firmly, too much for my door. So I put a very small piece of tape on the door and everything works fine. It was also delivered faster than indicated at checkout.
