Review on πŸ’§ iSpring WSP-50SL Sediment Water Filter Softener for Whole House, Reusable with Siliphos to Minimize Scale and Corrosion, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, 50 Micron by Brian Wright

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The 50 micron filter quickly clogs with my well water.

The 50 micron filter that came with this unit worked well. I had to flush the device once or twice a day. I'm on well water with fine black sediment. I called iSpring. They suggested switching to a 200 micron filter. My disappointment was that they would not exchange or take back a used filter. For health reasons, I'm sure. They said trial and error is the only way to determine which filter is the right one. I have 200 microns and it takes at least a week before I backwash it with no noticeable loss of pre-backwash water flow. I might as well try 100 microns. I want to take in as much as possible without crawling under my backwash room at most once a week. 50 microns is probably fine for city water, 100 and more for well water depending on the water condition.

Pros

Cons
  • Having problems
