Review on 🍷 The De-Gas Whip Wine Degasser by James Wonsley

This works well. I like the concept. I like that the cork seals the opening of the bottle so none of your drill gets in (it's probably a good idea to dust off the drill first). Unfortunately the cork dangles a bit. Not sure if the cork is too small (as another reviewer mentioned) or too big - it doesn't sit well in the bottle cap and pops out when the drill is turned on. I've found that the only way to do this is to hold it with one hand and operate the drill with the other. I would also like the whip to be longer as it is not long enough for our bottle. As other reviewers have pointed out, IS a little white shave - although apparently I got lucky and only got a few on the outside of my bottle and inside the stopper. I think this is because the drill hits the inside of the connector. When I take away the drill and use it, I don't get any chips. It seems easy, but when the cork tries to pop out and the force of the drill pushes the drill head toward the cork, it's like fighting an elephant. Of course, don't forget to disinfect it thoroughly. There is a sticker on the whisk. Stopper with instructions to fill the stopper halfway with water (presumably during use). Didn't see it the first time I used the wine whip and used without it. I later tried a cork filled with water - DO NOT USE WATER. One seeps into the bottle (ugh) while the other doesn't seem to be of any help at all. Maybe it would help if it didn't leak? Who knows. In any case, remove the sticker that asks you to do so. This is another item that gets in the way when trying to use it. All of this is to say that the wine whip WORKS. In fact, the third time I used it for this batch, so much air escaped that the bubbles and some of the wine escaped through the cork and spilled over the top of the bottle. I like to degas the wine well because if you don't you can ruin the batch (ask me about my taxi batch that has bubbles like champagne lol).
