🍷 The De-Gas Whip Wine Degasser Review

This is a well made product but the rubber stopper is too big for a 1 gallon bottle. It could be a case where they tried too hard to make a generic product and ended up with a product that works well for many things rather than a product that works really well for one thing. They really should make a version specifically for 1 gallon bottles that fits the bottleneck better. The price is quite reasonable. For a smaller bottle I would always buy a separate one.

Unfortunately the one I received added plastic shavings to the wine when I tried using it multiple times with my batch of wine to use. be sturdy, but no matter what speed I used it at, it made little plastic shavings. Sure they were tiny, but I ended up having to filter the entire batch. Since I don't usually filter my wine, it made a big mess. I may have just received a defective degasser. I was so excited when I received this. We finally got to the point tonight when it was time to degas our wine and thanks to The Whip Wine Degasser we may have ruined our entire winemaking process - wasted time and money. This works well. I like the concept. I like that the cork seals the opening of the bottle so none of your drill gets in (it's probably a good idea to dust off the drill first). Unfortunately the cork dangles a bit. Not sure if the cork is too small (as another reviewer mentioned) or too big - it doesn't sit well in the bottle cap and pops out when the drill is turned on.
