I wanted to have a tape measure on hand for occasional use. I used it very simply for two years. It's kept in the office, so it's not prone to bumps and the like in a regular toolbox. So today I had to mark a few meters and fractions of a meter. The measuring tape spontaneously lost its fixability. No manipulation would have allowed him to block the tape. The tape measure is practically useless here. I ended up throwing it away.
