Review on Heavy Duty Magnetic Screen Door for Doorway and Sliding Door - Fits 38x82 Door Size with Fiberglass Mesh and Strong Magnets - Screen Dimensions: 40x83 Inches by Van Masterson

If you have a step down, don't JUST measure your door-length!

Okay so I've had this installed for less than 24 hours, so I don't know anything about durability yet. And I'm giving it a tentative 5 stars because it does what it says on the tin. If it doesn't age well, I'll edit this.BUT! The measurement info they give in the listing is incomplete! The 32x80" screen door actually measures 34x81". That means I NEEDED to have measured the "door length" from 1 inch above the door to the floor of the porch, which is 2 inches BELOW the doorsill. But I didn't realize that based on the "measure your door" instructions.IF the floor of my porch was level with my doorsill, then this would be perfect. (But why would it be? That's a flood hazard!) Instead, I have to attach something to the bottom of the panels to keep the crawling bugs out.Another bit of irritation is the magnets will stick to my (steel) door if I come inside while it's opened at 90% or less to the screen. There's nothing to do for that other than to be careful. Or get a storm door instead, which isn't happening. The Velcro is sticking fine. I attached it in 80F weather to painted Hardee Plank & rubbed the Velcro well as I slowly peeled off the backing, starting at the center of the lintel and moving outward. I did not use the tacks. It has not yet rained, so we'll see how the adhesive copes with Texas weather as time passes.

Pros
  • It was super easy to install and we love love love it! Great price. Had our door open and no bugs in.
Cons
  • The screen door may be less effective at keeping out insects and other pests compared to a solid door
