To get rid of the cliches, I wasn't expecting much. I have been welding for almost 50 years and for the last 10 or so years I have mainly used MIG and TIG. There are times when I NEED an arc welder for certain jobs because I need to be fast and versatile. I am more than impressed with this device, although on March 16th I limited it to lower amperage applications and cold rolled steel, pipe, plate etc in my shop. After some experimentation with different bars including 6010, 6011, 6013, 7014, 7018 and 7024. Undoubtedly and probably not surprisingly, 6013-5/64" gives me the best results of all. Again, I'm not surprised. 6013 is probably the easiest rod (for most) for general work shop and all experience levels I contacted Yeswelder and they responded immediately offering a replacement of my choice and did so immediately.
