I just used these tools to create a radius template for my router. I don't think I've ever been happier with a tool than these measuring tools. I didn't think I would need an angled or straight ruler. I bought the set because it was a little larger than the T rule. I used each piece to lay out this jig and make some 2cm square blocks for my wife. I enjoy working with wood, but I've always been frustrated by the inaccuracies that creep into my work due to my poor measuring tools. I've already gotten a better job than I could with these tools. I was so pleased after making the 2cm blocks that I pulled out a caliper to see how close I got. This is not ideal as it is a standard rule and not a metric rule. Their dimensions were 2.008 cm on each side. This is accurate to 3 thousandths of an inch. I couldn't have had my best day without these tools. I would give them 10 stars if I could. As other reviewers have said, they are very thin and flexible. There are mutliple reasons for this. You can place markers on curved surfaces and there is no parallax when marking or aligning. These are delicate instruments and should be treated accordingly. Many precision instruments are fragile and they are no exception. I have a 6 inch set and they work really well. A 12" T-rule would probably be fine, but I have a feeling that would be difficult to deal with. I'm not sure I would have bought an 18 incher. I don't think you could get a perfect line at 18 inches. I've never used both and maybe with practice you can get perfect lines around the edges. It would be great to have a thicker, heavy duty version of the T-Rule that could only be used to draw straight lines, but I am VERY happy with this product.
