I bought a 2006 Dodge 4x4 with a Cummins 5.9 engine that has sentimental value to our family. The car sat on the same oil for two years. When I bought it I changed the oil and added a Purolator 1 filter. The oil immediately turned black with soot. This is normal and not scary. however, I could not resist. Oil change at 1500km and this filter used. The oil was black after the first run, but the oil got cleaner and cleaner with each check. I checked the oil at 25 miles and there was just a hint of soot in the oil. I was shocked. I will continue to use this product. I will not increase the change intervals. I don't mind the extra cost of pure fresh oil. The oil pressure was ok.
