Definitely worth considering

I got a router along with a DWL-G650 wireless card for mine about a week ago Bought a laptop. Before I placed my order (Revain.com) I had read many reviews of various routers from all major brands. There isn't a single wireless router (in the mid-range price range) that satisfies everyone. WLAN router before, my colleagues (programmers) as well as online reviews helped me with this decision. This router had the fewest negative reviews and the price was very attractive, so I chose it. What I like about this router: - Easy installation and setup wizard; - Excellent performance (I've found that my Comcast cable works faster with a router connected directly to my desktop via a cable modem) - It supports file sharing apps like eMule or Kazaa (Note: there are a few entries that need to be added to the firewall configuration settings. Instructions are easy to find at D- Website Knowledge Base Link) - It supports VPN access. - It works great with the D-Link DWL-G650 wireless card for my laptop. I could get almost 100% signal with 70-100% quality anywhere in my house between two walls or on another floor. I haven't had a disconnect yet (knock on wood). - Free customer support is a big plus. Some big brands don't have free support! Some customers have complained about the poor customer service. It seems that low level customer service has become the norm across the industry these days. From my personal experience, dealing with a customer support team is a godsend. So if you missed it once, try again. It supports the Wi-Fi standard, which might be useless at the moment but could soon come in handy as many home electronic devices will use it more to be able to connect to the house. Network.

Pros
  • Backwards compatible with all 802.11b and 802.11g products
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
