I compared a Celestron 12-36 X 60 spotting scope with a 20x -60 x 80 Lando and 20-60 x 80 Goski. The much cheaper and more portable Celestron produced reasonably good, sharp images that deteriorated only slightly at higher powers, as did the Lando. However, the apparent image size of the Lando 20-60 X 80 and Gosky at 20x minimum magnification actually appeared larger than that of the Celestron at 36x magnification, and certainly much sharper and brighter at 20x initial magnification. Also the Celestron tripod was terrible, almost useless. You'll need to aim well past what you're looking at and adjust the slider so you know the scope will drop significantly further before hopefully getting close to the image you want to display. This Celestron oscilloscope is in dire need of a better tripod as the table tripod that comes with it is almost useless, especially when trying to set at higher magnifications. Additionally, the 20-60 X 80 Lando lets you focus on objects about 10 feet or so close at 20 feet, and its tripod works well and locks in place well, not vibrating up and down at the slightest touch like a squirming one Tripod with Goska. The Celestron is about 11 inches long compared to the Lando and Gosky 20-60 X 80 at 17 inches. The Lando appears to offer significantly sharper optics than the Gosky 20-60 X 80 and has the best tripod of the three. the price difference is about $50 more (remember others will need a new tripod) if the larger size is not an issue I think the Lando 20-60 X 80 is the clear winner. Therefore, for budget options, I strongly recommend that you spend a little more money and buy Lando. It's hard to think of a more expensive scope that does everything better than the Lando. To be fair to Goska, I may have received a defective scope that was sent back because the magnification ring was spinning like it wasn't connected properly. Gosky didn't focus as clearly as Lando's sharp chisel.
