Not bad. will get the job done at low cost.

You get what you pay for, but it's not bad for the price and functionality. I wanted it for target shooting and it should work. I have several binoculars to compare and MFG can claim all specs like 12-36X. but in my testing it looks more like a real 12-20X. Not a deal breaker for me. so I thought it was 12-20X. Pros: 1. Overall good volume for the price 2. Very portable.3. Small and easy to carry.4. If you are looking for binoculars in the 12-20X range then for the price this is not bad. Good…

Pros
  • Compact, Lightweight: Portable and packs down small so you can take it with you on any trip to the field or shooting range
Cons
  • There are cons

I compared a Celestron 12-36 X 60 spotting scope with a 20x -60 x 80 Lando and 20-60 x 80 Goski. The much cheaper and more portable Celestron produced reasonably good, sharp images that deteriorated only slightly at higher powers, as did the Lando. However, the apparent image size of the Lando 20-60 X 80 and Gosky at 20x minimum magnification actually appeared larger than that of the Celestron at 36x magnification, and certainly much sharper and brighter at 20x initial magnification. Also the…

Pros
  • Large focusing wheel with rubber grip: easy to focus even with gloves
Cons
  • I will add later

Great spotting scope if you're looking for portability

I bought this scope because it's small, light and fits in my daily backpack for hiking and birding trips. I have an Opticron 20-60x 80 scope that costs 10 times as much, but I rarely use it because of the added weight of the tripod. Overall I was very impressed with the Celestron 12-36xx60 scope. In the field it definitely helps to see details that I can't see with the binoculars. I did a direct comparison with the Opticron for reading newspaper prints at 50ft. The Opticron has the best picture

Pros
  • Fully coated optics: improved light transmission for bright, clear images
Cons
  • Upgradeable
