Review on Celestron 52322 Landscout 12 36X60 Spotting by Chris Munns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad. will get the job done at low cost.

You get what you pay for, but it's not bad for the price and functionality. I wanted it for target shooting and it should work. I have several binoculars to compare and MFG can claim all specs like 12-36X. but in my testing it looks more like a real 12-20X. Not a deal breaker for me. so I thought it was 12-20X. Pros: 1. Overall good volume for the price 2. Very portable.3. Small and easy to carry.4. If you are looking for binoculars in the 12-20X range then for the price this is not bad. Good portable spotting scope. Cons: 1. Not as sharp as my other binoculars. (Even my cheap Borska 20X80 was sharper, cleaner and better in colour).2. Colors are dimmer than my other binoculars.3. The contrast is weaker than my other binoculars.4. As stated in another review, 12x is close to 12x and 36x is closer to 20x.5. The bag is normal for the scope. but a very difficult task for scope and tripod. Another 1/2 inch would be nice.

Pros
  • Compact, Lightweight: Portable and packs down small so you can take it with you on any trip to the field or shooting range
Cons
  • There are cons
