This filter went into my 4 gallon Vornado humidifier and works way better than crappy flimsy standard filters. It is 2 times thicker and allows you to reduce the fan speed to get the same effect. They last just as long as regular ones. Life can be extended by mixing 1/2 cup of 35% food grade peroxide into each 2 gallon container. This will prevent the orange bacteria from being killed and mold from growing. That way they don't get hard over time.
